SWITCH

In case you didn't know, I went to high school in Arkansas but I'm attending college in Utah. However, this week my parents moved to Utah and I decided to stay in Arkansas for the rest of the summer. They've been officially gone from the state for 12 hours and this was easily the best decision I've ever made.

It's an adult thing to do, ya know? Pretend like I can actually support myself in this little town with old friends (and new ones), when in reality I'm living at a family friends' house while trying to work as many hours as possible.

The role reversal of my parents leaving me behind (keep in mind it was my choice) has really impacted everything since I decided to do so. I'm happier. I love the Ozarks. I love the people here. I love life far away from the polluted valleys of the Wasatch front. But I still miss those piney mountains.
